Happy blogiversary to me! The Usual Bliss is four years old. Time flies when you’re having fun! This site has evolved over the years, changed along with my life, but the basic idea remains. Here’s how I described it back in 2012:
“The point of The Usual Bliss is not to pretend my life is perfect, or offer a façade of what I’m like or how my life really is. I’m a mess, just like everybody else! I think by now, my readers have gotten to know more than just the shiny side of me. It’s my choice to focus on the good stuff.
I started writing this blog to remind myself to keep everything in perspective. To think positively when I’m heading the other direction. To be grateful for the little things and even more grateful for the big things. To recognize special times in my life. To find the bright side.”
We’ve been through some serious struggles since I first wrote those words, but thankfully, gratitude remains. It’s not always easy to stop and recognize the happy moments, especially when things don’t feel particularly happy. But it sure has made a difference in my own life to do so. Take a peek at what has been making me smile this week!
Oden sent Grandma flowers to say THANK YOU for helping his parents not lose their minds.
After pooping, peeing, and puking on a few outfits, we opted for diaper-only time!
A spring snowstorm happened this week. (I’d be lying if I said I was into it.)
Happy hour!
