Single life.

I had a dose of the single gal life this weekend, while John was away for work. When he’s out of town, I simultaneously relish the time to myself and miss John tremendously. I realize that I talk to Cholula a lot. And my plants. And myself. This weekend included a little pampering, a lot of Cholula-spoiling, time spent outside in the stellar weather, necessary chores, some shopping, a girls’ night out, and cooking for one.

It was a beautiful weekend to myself, to fill with whatever struck my fancy. I didn’t do anything I wouldn’t do when John is home, but it all feels a little different without him near. Cholula squiggled and squealed when we picked John up at the airport late last night. Her contented, deep sigh as the three of us snuzzled into bed last night reminds me that we are a family. Time alone is necessary and healthy, and always makes me appreciate the life we have together.

  1. I loved “Beautiful Ruins” and I hope you do too! Alone time is great for recharging and getting one-on-one time with beloved pooches. But you’re right, it’s always nice to be reunited with loved ones. Have a great week, Amber!

  2. I’m the same way, Amber! I usually binge-watch a show at night that I know my bf isn’t into, like “Parenthood.” Reading is always good too!
