This week: sun, snow, laughter, tears, barbed wire, a trip to the vet, and a LOT of hockey. Whew! The last couple of days were unexpectedly emotional. I was humbled by the outpouring of sweet words from friends near and far after sharing my article on Elephant Journal.
I talk a lot about “writing as therapy.” Well, as anyone who is familiar with therapy knows, sometimes it’s pretty uncomfortable. I felt anxious and raw as soon as I saw that the article was live, and it brought not-so-distant pain back to the surface. That said, I’m reminded once again of the kindness in people, and feel grateful for this life– especially when I review the random, happy photos I took throughout the week. Take a peek!
The hillsides are greening up!
Tiny flowers line the trails.
I made this Thai barley salad, adding garlic, pineapple, extra veggies, and roasted shrimp.
Seriously.
Kauai dreaming.
A fresh layer of the white stuff in the ‘hood.
I decided to embrace the snow and get out in it.
She’s an all-weather girl.
We hosted some boys for playoff hockey!
Tulip rainbow!
The ultimate pout.
I updated the look of The Usual Bliss! Change feels good.
Sometimes she tests the guest room comfort level.
These ranunculus (ranunculi?) lasted forever!
Chickpea soup for a snowy day! Yum.
This lovely hike ended in a barbed wire fence, which resulted in an even more spoiled dog.
Finally renewing my passport for a trip to Mexico later this month!
Big, nervous smiles for the Flyers (until their season ended later that night).
One year ago, I’d just returned from a two-part California adventure with dear friends!
Two years ago, the Flyers were also in the playoffs. My shirt is bedazzled.
Three years ago, Zamboni was lurking while I cooked up some hamburger.
And this morning, we took John to the airport. Someone still thinks she’s a baby.
You know. Just the usual bliss.
One year ago: Part one of my San Francisco ladies weekend.

Life needs more bedazzling. XOXO
This is my new motto. 🙂
Loving the NEW! Look 🙂 Happy Bliss Day!!!
Thank you, Renee!
I like your new website look, too. Hope the snow ends soon. Terrific Hawaii pics (going to take another look and daydream some more). And, also, sending a virtual hug to you for all you’ve been going through.
Thanks, Ann! I needed a change. I think the snow is done but the wet weather isn’t. That’s ok- we need it! And thank you for that virtual hug!
So now that the Flyers are out how about some extra cheers for the Habs?!! We could use all the help we can get against Boston!!!
It’s so STRESSFUL!
