I’m headed back to the Motherland. California, here we come.
What a week! Remember when I talked about simplifying my life? Well, there’s no way around it- it’s been a busy month so far. A house filled with guests, a crazy dog that needs wrangling, back-to-back trips to pack and prep for, major landscaping taking place, an ever-closer wedding to plan… Eek!
Perspective is key! All of the items that have us on the GO-GO-GO are good things. Tomorrow morning, we leave on a road-trippy adventure to the Bay area. We’ll visit various friends in Oakland, Palo Alto, and Point Reyes. We’ll see music at Golden Gate Park and we’ll sandwich the trip with a couple of days in Bear Valley on the way there and back!
We’ve spent a lot of time in the Bay area together. We towed Betty across the Golden Gate Bridge. We’ve spent a day shopping in San Francisco. We’ve clutched the sides of a boat as we plowed up and over waves in the bay. We’ve napped on the dock, daydreamed on the beach, camped out in a friend’s driveway, eaten incredible seafood, hit local farmers’ markets, and made some awesome memories. Here are a few of them.
I spent today packing and making some treats to take along with us on the first leg of our journey- a cabin in Bear Valley. Stay tuned for two simple (crowd-pleasing) recipes!
I love your adventures!
I’m excited for another one this week!
I love San Francisco. Always make some time there when we head back to California. Such a gem of a city. 🙂
Have a good trip!
Cheers,
Laura
Thanks! It will be a quick visit but fun stuff!
Aaahh…the things you can do when you don’t have four kids to pack with you. Have fun! I look forward to your photo-journal when you get back.
I fear the day we have a child to pack for, too- we are so stuffed already with just us!!
can’t wait to see how the backyard turns out! your house is officially my inspiration for when I do mine [especially that kitchen!]
I can’t wait to see it, either!!
I’ve had the good fortune of visiting one of my best friends in Northern California a few times now and it is absolutely beautiful. Have fun on your return visit! Can’t wait to see photos.
It’s so beautiful and a different animal than So Cal!
Even tho I am a So. Cal gal, I freely admit there are some beautiful spots in No. Cal. We just got back from Mammoth a couple of weeks ago, and also went through Yosemite. Gorgeous. I hope you have a fantastic time and enjoy some R&R, and a break from house remodelling (your home looks lovely, by the way).
