TGIF, am I right?! We’d planned on heading out on our first camping trip of the season this weekend. It would be Oden’s first adventure in Betty the Trailer, and what better way to celebrate Earth Day and the beginning of spring? Sadly, as is often the case in April in Utah, the weather isn’t cooperating with our plans, but there will be plenty of other camping opportunities. Instead, we’ll make some yummy food, take some family walks in any good-weather windows, daydream about this year’s garden, and love up Mr. Oden. He will hit the 2 month mark this week, and I have to say that it hurts my heart a little bit. Time has gone by so fast since he arrived! I’ve already had to pack away many of his newborn clothes because he’s grown WAY out of them! It was a good reminder to savor every second with him. Take a peek at some of the things that have made me happy recently (baby-related and otherwise!)…
We sure did enjoy the off-season on the golf course this year!
When you look at your calendar in April and it’s still on February…#timewarp
The bird on the feeder is as confused by the snow as I am.
I love friends who bring wine, chocolate, and flowers!
Nancy shared this with me. I believe it has to be magic.
Fuel!
It was my little brother’s birthday. My best memories have him in them!
John and Cholula like the late-season snow storms!
What happy hour looks like these days.
Cholula is SUCH A GOOD GIRL.
Seasons colliding!
Lupine is appearing in the yard. Yay!
I spy chunky legs in the making…
Thankful we got a spacious glider!
IT’S HAPPENING.
He looks exactly like John.
Sarah sent me this. Remember it.
Weekends are for bacon!
I love this so much.
My friend who is a florist keeps bringing us amazing bouquets!
The first gas station soft serve cone of the year. YUM.
We went to Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake. Glorious spring!
Did you try the BBQ Chicken Cobb Salad? So easy and delish.
I am so, so lucky.
Taco night with my folks!
Giving the girl a little park time.
We call him Mogwai. It’s Cantonese for “monster” (and a reference to the movie “Gremlins”!).
We went to a friend’s house for al fresco drinks and grown-up conversation!
Apple blossoms.
John’s bedside reading material.
Let the adventure continue!
In the morning, I drink coffee and make bottles.
One year ago, Cholula and I hiked PC Hill!
Two years ago, we’d just returned from Kauai.
Three years ago, I made carnitas (my most popular recipe on this site).
Four years ago, Amanda visited and we spent the day at the spa. Ahhhhhhh.
Five years ago, we’d just returned from Kona! (My family likes Hawaii!)
And this morning, my little man was clearly having sweet dreams.
You know. Just the usual bliss.

Gah! I don’t think it’s possible for Oden to be any cuter than he already is! He’s positively smoochable.
I have a question for you, those tacos, they look to be fried flour ones? Do you have a tasty recipe somewhere I’ve missed?
The skies look amazing! Great shots.
AWESOME
