John and I already enjoyed a complete traditional Thanksgiving celebration with my family earlier this month. We were unable to attend a wedding this weekend at the last minute, so our dear friends invited us to join in on their Turkey Day fun. There were ten adults and six children, a super fun crew of family and local friends. I made a delicious appetizer (which I’ll share with you this week). Melissa deep-fried two turkeys and the dinner spread was delightfully different than what I’m used to. I loved seeing these East Coast traditions and tasting their scrumptious Thanksgiving dishes. The evening ended perfectly, with pie around a crackling fire and a generous toddler feeding giant pieces of turkey to Stanley, the dog. We are so thankful for loved ones in our lives, near and far.
