Bliss Bits 2/19/2014.

It’s BLISS BITS Wednesday!

Currently, there are snowflakes blowing by my window; it will be gray and wet for the rest of the week around here. But, good news! SPRING officially begins in 28 short days. This time of year, I almost salivate at the anticipation of those first blades of new green grass, those first crocus blossoms poking up through the wet soil, those colorful springtime mornings that grow warmer by the day. I just love having something to look forward to- don’t you?

Here’s a handful of things that have kept me smiling this week!

John surprised me with his smoothie-making skills.

We Skyped with Sarah in Oman! Technology is amazing.

Cholula gets antsy when I’m on the computer too long…

Real life.

John’s handsome face was on the local news! He talked about avalanche safety.

A very fancy Bloody Mary at the St. Regis. The dropper is filled with hot sauce!

My favorite restaurant will be featured on the Food Network! So fun to be a part of it.

My sweet mother sends me things like this. EEEEE!

My sweet friend, Nancy, sends me things like this. I’m a beard lover!

Valentine’s Day lovebird plates.

John is excellent when it comes to food presentation! Yum.

He bottled some delicious homemade habanero hot sauce.

In California, Nancy has a neighbor who lets her pick lemons from his tree. Swoon!

I just love this shot from Amanda‘s trip to the Anacapa Islands. I spy dolphins!

Sunrise and the moon.

I made strawberry-raspberry jam for John!

Cholula and I explored a new section of trail yesterday. The sun was glorious.

I’ve been experimenting with my fancy camera!

One year ago, we were on a family hike in the snow.

Two years ago, we celebrated moving into our new home with my favorite wine.

Cholula was still so small!

Three years ago, my “urban hikes” looked like this.

And this morning, Sir Paul and I played peek-a-boo.

You know. Just the usual bliss.

One year ago: One of my favorite summertime hikes- in winter.

    1. It will! I think the show will air in the next couple of months- I might even have a cameo with John!
As for the jam, I literally dump the 2ish cups of berries (any berries) into a sauce pan, add half a cup of sugar and the juice of half a lemon, and let it simmer for 20 minutes or so. I smoosh the berries along the way. John really loves this batch- I drizzled a few drops of balsamic reduction in it at the end.
