It’s BLISS BITS Wednesday!
Truth: these Bliss Bits posts are more for me than for you. Wednesdays mean taking a moment to seek out the things in my life that make it joyful. I spent a lot of this week in Durango with my family, time that is always filled with little things that make me smile. We are entering our busy time of year- our anniversary, all of the holidays, PLUS both of our birthdays- so it’s important to pause and soak in the good stuff as it happens. Here’s a glimpse into this week:
Last week, I drove home the East Canyon way. This was the view from the summit.
I let Cholula hunt for field mice while I soaked in the fall colors.
I happened to catch two crazy speed jets fly overhead!
Two adorable little monsters.
Martini party before seeing Gary Clark, Jr. play live. Date night!
He is an amazing blues guitarist.
On Friday, Cholula officially entered the Terrible Twos.
My co-pilot for the road trip to Durango. See her PUP-kin toy?
Necessary after Cholula celebrated her birthday by coating herself in poo.
Stink-Neck at the prettiest rest stop in Utah.
My mom always has fresh flowers around.
Meat and potatoes done RIGHT.
My dad gave Edie a spin in his newly tricked-out Porsche! It purrs.
My grandpa brought me an album of my folks’ wedding day in 1972. I treasure it.
I had a fabulous lunch with Liz where I used to work! YUM.
Plenty of apples (despite a hungry bear who munches them every night).
Walking Cholula under the cottonwoods.
Remnants of summer.
Fall in Durango is lovely.
Sarah and I clinked Mules on a little date night of our own.
There’s butterscotch pudding in there.
I love road trips.
I brought these tomatillos home from Durango- now I need a good recipe!
Count every beautiful thing.
Our garden’s green tomatoes are ripening up!
Three years ago, I went on my first Duck Tour with my brother and Jodi in Seattle. Quack.
Two years ago, John almost proposed to me. Hurricane Irene had different ideas.
Last year, we opened wedding presents and felt spoiled.
And this is today.
You know. Just the usual bliss.

I see some roasted tomatillo salsa in your future!
I think you might be right..!
Love that you take the time to reflect on and share your happiness-es with us! 🙂
It is a good reminder to take time to do the same in my own life. Thank you!
Thank you, Alaina! It helps me regain perspective of the BIG PICTURE when I stop and notice all of the reasons life is good (even during the hardest times).
