It’s BLISS BITS Wednesday!
It’s also my first post since Friday, thanks to a full-to-the-brim weekend with my entire family (and four dogs!). I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. In the quiet after the mayhem, I’m focusing on being present and grateful for the itty bits of joy in every day. Here are a few of my happy things...
Yesterday, I received a sweet email from one of the hosts of BlogTalkRadio out of New York City. On one of their recent shows, they referenced my article on Elephant Journal about the wisdom we can learn from dogs– and they loved The Usual Bliss, too! (Missed the article? Read it here.)
The feel of fall is in the air.
Our garden continues to produce for us! Tomatoes coming soon.
Afternoon light on the deck.
I actually turned on my seat heater one evening! (I love those.)
I made chicken stock to keep in the freezer for upcoming tasty fall soups.
Sunset behind the house.
Fire-roasted green chiles for this soup!
Hot hubby manning the grill.
Al fresco everything!
One of my brother’s teensy dogs, coming in for a sniff.
The sun never came out at Mirror Lake, but we still had fun.
Every day is a good day for this guy!
Sunflower season makes me happy.
My mom made muffins using rhubarb from HER garden!
We play a lot of (very competitive) card games in my family.
How cute is the logo for the Salt Lake Bees baseball team?
Early morning view from the porch.
Dinner last night was one of my favorite summer meals!
Lazy bones.
A flashback to summer of 2011. It was 118 degrees in Furnace Creek, Death Valley!
Puppy memories! This was taken right after Cholula’s very first bath. (She hated it.)
You know. Just the usual bliss.

Fall must be in the air if you are making soups! Eek! I’m not sure how I feel about that. I love the bliss bits though 🙂
The colors MUST be changing where you are, too!
Love the photo of sunflowers!!! Instantly brought a smile to my face!!! 🙂
