There’s something magical about returning home after a chunk of time away.
After our weeklong road trip adventure into Southern Utah and then Durango, Colorado, John and I are savoring that home again feeling. It’s the little things, isn’t it? Normal-sized, good shampoo in the shower. Clothes that come from a drawer (not a suitcase). The TV shows we recorded while we were gone, waiting to be caught up on. The washing machine (be gone, desert dust!). And bed. No matter where you’ve slept or how comfortable it may have been, there’s NOTHING like returning to your own bed.
I’ll do my best to share stories from our week with you over the next few days. For now, here’s a glimpse into what we’ve been up to!
From a rustic little cabin outside of Boulder, Utah to my parents’ cozy Durango home, to another log cabin tucked up a canyon, we had an incredible week! Desert sunshine, stunning hikes, delicious meals, and precious time with family and dear friends…it doesn’t get much better.
Stay tuned for a full trip recap. For now, I’ve got half of the desert to wash out of my clothes and a refrigerator to restock.
Ahhh. HOME.
Beautiful Captures – thanks for sharing:) Nothing better than your own bed – have to agree with you there! Happy Monday
Great photos, I love the one of the waterfall. And, you’re right there is nothing quite like your own bed!
Love these photos, Amber! Your adventures are just my style!
Can’t wait for the details!
Fantastic teaser, in Usual Bliss style. I’m still pining for Out-West after being back only a couple of weeks now. (It’s terribly flat and green here, no canyons, no mountains.) We go back in the summer, starting with Durango. It’ll be an epic road adventure for DirtNKids all the way up to Coeur d’Alene, ID. Can’t wait!!
