“It’s too uncomfortable. I can’t get to sleep.”
“It’s so boring. Nothing to see, nothing to do.”
“I prefer the comforts of home.”
“I don’t like camp food.”
“It’s too much work. When I go on vacation, I just want to relax.”
It’s true- I have camping in my blood. I’m lucky to have found a cute trailer that makes things easier. I realize it’s not for everyone. But for me, it’s a way to escape from everyday life, see and do things I don’t normally see or do, challenge myself with interesting (and delicious) meals, and soak in all of the glorious outdoors.
So when people tell me they don’t like camping, I shrug.
Maybe you’re doing it wrong.
Your pictures are amazing!!!! I am so jealous of your trailer!!! It looks amazing!!
We so lucked out when we found her! Makes ‘roughing it’ not as rough. 🙂
I whole-heartedly agree with Kate. The 9th photo, though, is just breath-taking. Which lake?
Nah, I don’t need comforts. A tent, a bag, and a fire is all I need (except when in bear country, in which case I might get a lodge). Most times we just do in the backyard by the creek. Judging from your photos, I might have to step up my game a bit and get a little comfy! That just rocks. Happy 4th, Usual Bliss. Looks like you had a fab recharge.
I think it’s called Cliff Lake, right near Wade Lake in Montana. The water was like the Caribbean!
The trip was a TON of fun. More of a recap to come. Currently licking my wounds after hosting a 4th of July Eve fiesta!
I’m sure it was a success. Though “morning after” champagne is usually the only thing that will heal that wound. LOL Can you say bellini? I can.
Oh, I can. I can also say bacon.
Brilliant blog – you make want to try camping now. That food looked lovely – how do you stay so slim?!
I only post the ‘slim’ photos! Ha! The food really was great this time. Go camping! If you plan ahead, it can be easy and comfortable. And clean!
Yep, camping definitely sucks. I have no idea why anyone would want to do such at thing 😀
More sites available for us then!
Great food, good choice of magazines, a pup along for the ride and an adorable trailer… my kind of camping!
A stack of magazines with coffee and a view!
omg….breathtaking pics. I was just going to ask, where in the heck you went. Then I see your prior response…Montana! Jealous! Can we trade for a while..you can drop me at the lake, and you can take my place in school. Deal? Can’t wait for the recap!
I took too many photos, as usual! I have to sort them and get my thoughts together about the trip. Soon!
We went tenting with two double wide tents and a ton of tarps with pouring down rain…asked Yogi Bear Campground Owner for a shovel and dug a trench around us kids rode bikes through our tent area and we had a dry fire…made spaghetti and pork chops and steaks with trimmings and veggies for dinner with coffee going 24 hrs…and bacon and pancakes for breakfast… six kids with us and a week of it rained entire time still had a blast… all in how you set your mind to it…
I can’t count the number of camp trips with my family growing up when it rained. One big tent, with holes in it that we stopped up with plastic baggies, I think. Camp breakfasts are always so good. Fond memories!!
Other campers who were flooded out came under ours and set up camp and we had a great time…is how we ended up with six children lol I had cooked ahead and froze so as food thawed I cooked and we never had to do ice runs lol…
Running out of ice is the worst! The best is making friends who are doing the exact same thing that you are.
Great Post – love, love your photos – the dog is blissin out, the wildlife is showing up, the food looks great, and the accommodations look comfortable – what is not to like:) Loving camping!
It was an awesome get-away, and the dog was sad to come home!
Wooooow! That looks awesome!!! LOVEEE the pics!! I wish I was there!! Where is there exactly??? I love the picture of the bald eagle, and the your pupperoni, and the fox, and the water, and….all of them!! And I loveee your trailer, so cute!
Let’s see, just outside of Ennis, Montana is a dirt road to Three Dollar Bridge (popular with fishermen). Further on are three campgrounds, Wade Lake, Cliff Point, and Hilltop. We ended up at Cliff Point, site #1. MONEY.
It’s beauuuutiful!
The water was crazy blue!
I think I want to go on one of your camping trips – they look amazing!
We may or may not go overboard. But it sure is fun.
I am starving now! These pictures are great, the one of the dogs sharing a log haha hysterical!
They played nice! ha!
