We had a food party last night.
I had a craving for a fusilli pasta dish that I used to eat all the time when I worked at Ken and Sue’s in Durango. I had concocted the recipe a few years back, based on my memories of the flavors. My version isn’t the same as the original, but it’s pretty close- and really yummy!
I also had some ricotta left over from this recipe, so I looked for a yummy way to use it. Ricotta orange poundcake with strawberries? YES, PLEASE. It felt like a birthday, minus the candles!
I wonder if it’s called poundcake because you can’t stop with one piece…And I wonder if it’s an acceptable breakfast.
They both look amazing, but I need to make that poundcake ASAP. Awesome.
I hadn’t made it in awhile but it really is scrumptious! Any fruit would be delish on top- which makes it fun for summer. You’ll probably want to take a nap after eating a piece though!
I want to take a nap all the time anyway, so that won’t be a massive change for me. I love to make breads, but I’ve never thought to use Ricotta. Sounds so good. Thanks for the recipe!
It just keeps everything moist and delish. This is definitely a cake. Though I did have a bite this morning. 🙂
