This morning, I scrolled through many friends’ back-to-school photos. The weather is cooler these days and I’ve even spied some leaves changing already. Is summer almost over…already? Not for us! We still have a few outdoor concerts on the books, plus an extended camping trip in the next couple of weeks (location TBD). As much as I love fall (and even get nostalgic for snow!), I’m not ready. Let’s squeeze as much summer out of the next month as we can, shall we? Here’s what’s been making me happy lately!
That John Candy is one DETERMINED squirrel. He now leaps to the (relocated) bird food!
We always stop at this oasis in the desert between Moab and Durango.
The walls are full of memories at my folks’ house! #bighairforever
Mom always sends us home with road trip deliciousness!
We returned home to houseguests- dear friends, including Allegra (aka Blue Eyes).
Also sweet Kalia, who helped me decorate a couple of key lime pies for a party!
Didn’t we do a lovely job? YUM.
Big fat fragrant lilies.
Sometimes a girl just needs pizza.
She loves to “help” with laundry.
Summer wildflowers on the trail.
Love is wherever you look for it.
Fluffy feather.
Sometimes you visit the garden for the first time in two weeks and find a serious salad bar!
And lots of spicy jalapeños!
And the cutest cucumber ever!
One year ago, we were ooooh-ing and ahhhh-ing at the Psico Bloc climbing event.
Two years ago, Cholula and I were adventuring on Guardsman Pass.
Three years ago, John (aka “Hairy Ninja”) was battling 3 tiny ninjas in an epic wrestling match.
Four years ago, we were just a few days into a magical 5-week stint across the West in Betty.
And this morning, a brave bunny with a cotton tail nibbled all sorts of treats in the backyard.
You know. Just the usual bliss.
