It’s BLISS BITS Wednesday!
This week has felt happily balanced. Social time and solo time. Chore time and trail time. Home-cooked meals and date nights. As summer sneakily slides into fall, the days feel noticeably shorter and the nights are peppered with the songs of the elk in the backyard. I’m feeling pretty grateful for the BIG things lately- but those big things are really just a lot of little things put together. Take a look.
Spicy wonton chips make a pretty pattern.
Autumn.
John’s meticulously prepped brunches are delicious!
These grew inside in a pot on our hearth because we ran out of room in the garden.
Sometimes BOTH ears are floppy. (Note the tennis ball under my pillow.)
I love how this small pine tree is perfectly framed by the others.
She’s upset that I’m making her sit for a photo.
She prefers to do this to squirrels and chipmunks.
I made tasty oat bars with the blackberries I picked up at the farmer’s market!
Wine.
My favorite is the tiny stripey one in the top right corner.
I’ve missed you, Betty. Let’s plan a date for the weekend.
I love uninvited snuzzles.
This looks fake. It isn’t.
En route to a fabulous dinner party.
This crockpot pork posole wasn’t as good as we’d hoped…
…but this spicy BBQ pulled pork sammie with tangy apple slaw was AMAZING.
A sold out show for the Black Crowes!
Have I told you guys about my wine-toting bag (complete with insulation and spigot)?
Our last concert of the season ROCKED.
We like it hot.
John’s making hot sauce with those peppers!
Have you seen these charming journals at World Market?
More baby green peppers, growing on the vine!
Three years ago today, I was shooting skeet in Northern Utah.
Two years ago today, I was making myself dizzy on a child’s toy.
One year ago today, the wedding RSVPs started rolling in.
And this was half an hour ago. Sometimes toast with fresh butter is perfection.
You know. Just the usual bliss.

Woman who sleeps with big dog and tennis ball – ha! Love that rainbow shot – Great Captures:) I have thought about buying that wine sign and of course a wine bag would be a great present for myself for the Holidays – ha! Happy Hump Day:)
Toast and butter is one the simplest luxuries. It looks like you’re having a beautiful autumn week. Have an awesome weekend!
It’s gorgeous here right now. Dipped into the 30s last night- eek. I hope you have a great weekend, too!
They just got the first hard frost of the season in New Hampshire – we are really hoping for lots of fall color when we get there next week!
The colors here are really bland this year- and are already fading in some places! I can’t wait to hear about your trip.
Ooooh love the fall shots of the aspens turning and the collection of gourds. I need to buy some to use as a centerpiece on my dining table for the season. Double rainbow was gorgeous! Looks like a great week, Amber 🙂
I am trying to hold back on the gourd party this year- John thinks I need a support group! They are just so pretty. 🙂
