Bliss bits 9/19.

It’s BLISS BITS Wednesday!

And what a blissful week it has been.

I spent most of it in Carmel, California with my best friend- you’ll get a preview of that trip here!

Here are (some of the) SMILES from my week.

Image

Cruisers parked on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

Image

Many types of margaritas for ladies night out in LA.

Image

My preference? Pomegranate. Reminder: drinks in Cali are stronger than drinks in Utah.

Image

Decor inside Harvelle’s.

Image

Soon to be…

Image

What closets look like with two tiny princesses in the house.

Image

Chilled bubbly awaiting us at the Cypress Inn. Purr.

Image

Courtyard art at the Inn.

Image

Welcome to Carmel-by-the-Sea: perfect Manhattan.

Image

Dinner at Nico, served by a French Johnny Depp.

Image

Tiramisu and Italian vino. Heaven!

Image

The gardens in Carmel are spectacular. I am NOT exaggerating.

Image

A “good morning” from the Pacific Ocean.

Image

I read that at one point, the dog-to-human ratio was 5:1. I LOVE THAT.

Image

Coffee and sand between my toes. I could become a morning person if this was reality.

Image

One of the best Bloody Maries I’ve tasted, and Amanda’s first raw oysters. (She loved them!)

Image

Flowers are happy in Carmel.

Image

Chalkboard art at La Bicyclette.

Image

Beach = bare feet required.

Image

This cypress tree is 250 years old and glorious. Inspiration.

Image

Early morning power walk on the beach. See? Morning person!

Image

Course #3 out of 5 at Mission Ranch‘s brunch. I dined with sheep.

Image

Seahorse love at Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Image

Pondering the early life of a penguin. Egg time.

Image

Happy hour, indeed.

Image

I mean…. please. Is a caption even necessary? Pause for enjoyment.

Image

My cozy goodbye to the Cypress Inn.

Image

The best part of the Big Sur stretch of the Cali coastline was Amanda seeing it for the first time!

Image

A brief stop at one of our regular haunts: Fermentations.

Image

My hubby-to-be, sweet Cholula, and sushi take-out awaited me when I got home.

Image

Oh, and FALL officially took over while I was gone.

Image

No, really. The hills are vibrant right now.

You know. Just the usual bliss.

I leave tomorrow morning for another ladies weekend- this one in the San Juan mountains of Colorado.

Stay tuned for recaps of both trips upon my return!*
