My happy place.

We are T-minus 50 days until our wedding! It’s CRUNCH TIME.

There are a lot of details to focus on and decisions to be made and things to approve…it’s an ever-growing list. The next three weekends are full to the brim! Next weekend, I’ll be in Carmel, California with my lovely matron of honor. The following weekend, I’ll be spa-ing, hiking, and soaking near Orvis Hot Springs with a gaggle of girls from Colorado. After that, John and I head to Charleston, South Carolina to take a breather before wedding month. Wheeeee! I can handle being busy, as long as I feel like I’m still in control. I’m dangerously close to crossing that line right now.

My solution? Take a time out in my happy place.

I miss my kitchen. I’m setting aside some quality time for us to spend together this weekend.

I’m not sure what kind of kitchen mischief I’ll get into, but you know I’ll share it with you!

I’m hoping to catch up on my reading, settle into a couch with a cozy throw blanket, a cup of coffee or glass of wine, and feel the stress melt away.

I’ll do my best to get my thoughts organized and get a handle on my to-do list, and if it starts to feel overwhelming, I’ll escape into the mountains for awhile with these two. They always calm me!

Ahhh. I’m looking forward to a long, peaceful weekend.

What’s your happy place?

    1. Emily, I totally agree- with the person-slash-canine that means most to you by your side, how bad can it be? Thanks for that reminder!
Yes, a lot of fun ahead. This is the calm before the celebration storm! 🙂

  1. first of all, I LOVE your kitchen, and I LOVE your house. my husband and I are building a new house (breaking ground next week, actually!) and I can’t WAIT to have my dream kitchen, like yours seems to be for you 🙂 secondly, I also had a matron of honor. however, she thought “matron” made her sound too old, so we changed it to “mistress of honor” hahaha! congratulations to you, I can tell you’re already a genuinely happy person – but a good marriage will make it even better 🙂
