It was a bit of an odd week. Things are getting real with Baby Howe. I feel like I’m growing a GIANT who will be arriving in just over 15 weeks. 15 weeks is soon! I spent half of the week solo while John tramped through the west desert of Utah, hunting birds with some dear friends. Lesson: Alone time can be rough on an emotional pregnant lady. And then the news from Beirut and Paris cast a shadow over the joy of bringing a new life into this world. Throw in the nostalgic time of year and I’m feeling extra emotional and quite fortunate for this life. I take a deep breath of crisp November mountain air and exhale gratitude. Here are a few of the smiles of the week!
Baby still wants turkey sandwiches with apple slices on the side. I’m hungry.
Fall Fall Fall!
It snowed. It’s gone. It will come back.
It seems too early to be losing my toes!
My new favorite Instagram account. Hilarious!
The dog-on-belly days are numbered…but I’ll take them while I can!
View from a hike in our ‘hood, before the snow came.
Cleaning out the freezer to make room for new stuff! Tomato soup with grilled cheese. YUM.
Pseudo sushi lunch date with hot hubby. (A veggie roll just isn’t the same.)
My little sunbeam.
Polished it right off! Good Karma is the best.
Where John has spent the last five days.
What I do at night when John’s gone for five days.
Snow hikes are resuming!
It’s harder to hike with 10 extra pounds.
Post-hike downtime. #bumpalert
One year ago, my family was in town for an early Thanksgiving celebration!
Two years ago, we rocked out to Blitzen Trapper at the State Room.
Three years ago, we were on the second leg of our incredible honeymoon.
Four years ago, we were in Charleston with these lovelies!
Five years ago, we were surprising Ali in Charleston for her 40th birthday!
And this morning, I hung a banner with words that I try to remember all year long.
You know. Just the usual bliss.
