Park City has been enjoying a late summer heat wave, making it easier to savor these last few days of summer. But it’s changing– the leaves, the temperature at night, the kinds of food I’m craving. The elk are busy bugling behind the house and hungry deer are chomping my garden flowers; the fact that the animals have come down from higher elevations means that true fall is just around the corner. But not just yet. Here’s a handful of happy things from the week!
We had a pretty chilly evening this week- brrrr!
Please note the squirrel hanging off the railing, with very full cheeks, emptying my bird feeder (again).
Did you see our delicious (meatless) taco spread?
My folks entertained some neighborhood friends the other night.
Date night!
We had burgers and fried chicken and beignets. OMG.
A lovely shot from one of John’s bike rides.
He makes me breakfast often, complete with a smoothie.
This is what happens while he’s making breakfast.
Seasons colliding.

My tee-shirt today.
We spent a sunny day on the lake with friends! They have a catamaran from 1984.
Dirty = happy.
I’ll be sharing this scrumptious couscous salad with spicy maple vinaigrette later this week. YUM!
My sweet neighbor brought us back a little caroler from Astonia. How cute is he?!
One year ago, I was in rock n’ roll bliss with The Black Crowes.
Two years ago, Amanda and I were wrapping up an incredible trip to Carmel and Monterey!
Three years ago, I was giggling with two princesses (who are much bigger now!).
And this morning, I dove head first into the season. (Stay tuned.)
You know. Just the usual bliss.
