We spent part of last week in Durango, visiting dear friends and spending time with my folks (more on that later). On the drive home, we spotted trees starting to change color and there’s a chill in the air this morning. Fall is coming, signaling the end of warm summer bliss but promising crisp mornings, cozy nights and hearty meals. I love this time of year. Here’s what made me smile this week!
I made a delectable wild mushroom pasta. John called it is most favorite, ever!
Farewell, Colossus. This terrifying/fun roller coaster from my childhood closed for good this week.
I had a fabulous lunch with a close friend!
Homemade BBQ sauce.
Spicy BBQ Chicken Lettuce Wraps!
All of our road trips involve a 60-pound dog on my lap.
Coffee wisdom.
Against all odds, my parents have happy hibiscus on their Colorado patio!
Cholula looooooves Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
Can we talk about little Macy’s scarlet curls?
An outtake from a mini photo shoot with the Durango ladies (minus Christina). Love these girls!
Nancy sent me some much-needed beach love!
I was invited to join Kitchen Daily’s Contributor Network! Check out the website– yum.
When John went to dinner with a friend, this is what a solo night in looked like for me.
I love getting packages! Amanda and her girls sent me a box full of goodies.
Take-out from Bombay House makes coming home after a 7-hour drive easier.
One year ago, John and I were giggling on date night at the St. Regis.
Two years ago, I was paddle boarding on Haviland Lake, trying desperately to catch a fish…
I caught John, instead.
Three years ago, we discovered our favorite Seattle restaurant while on our big Betty road trip.
And this morning, I’m happy to be home.
You know. Just the usual bliss.
One year ago: A surprise for my Pops and a full house of family.
