Is July really over? These glorious summer days are flying by, and we’re trying our best to savor every one. I came across this quote (Henry Ward Beecher) this morning:
“The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.”
AMEN. The little things ARE the big things in this life. Here’s a peek at my bits of bliss from the week!
The yard is super colorful right now!
Cholula and I hiked through waist-high wildflowers.
We visited the Love Tree.
“Hey, baby, I’m talkin’ to you…”
Grilled pizza with caramelized onion, mushroom, roasted corn, zucchini, prosciutto, and chèvre = BRILLIANT.
Sometimes I cheers Amanda in California via text. CLINK!
Ladies night at the Egyptian Theater!
Why, yes! That IS my pillow.
My folks rolled through town! We took them to Silver Star, of course.
We also grilled steaks for tacos and played a game called MURDER on the patio. #summerforever
Our smiles mask the 100 degree heat in Salt Lake City this week. Yikes.
We went to three concerts at Red Butte Garden this week! I’ll tell you about them soon.
My future baby will need this tiny sweatshirt.
Pre-show picnicking with friends.
Yummy roasted chickpeas for orzo pasta.
Watching the storm roll in from the top of a mountain.
It rained hard this week! I love summer storms.
That feeling after leaving the hair salon with good color.
One year ago, I was celebrating our 20-year high school reunion with the Fab Five!
Two years ago, we were backstage with the band.
Three years ago, I was doing cannonballs with Perry in New Jersey!
Four years ago, we spent the evening with Jimmy Cliff and Michael Franti at Deer Valley.
And this morning, I learned I slept with a piglet last night.
You know. Just the usual bliss.
