Truth? My soul is still in Kauai. It snowed in Park City on the day we left and the day we returned. Re-entry has been… slow. But, as with any trip, being away from home makes me love it just a little bit more. Sometimes a change of scenery is necessary to gain a little perspective. Here are a handful of happy things from before, during, and after Kauai (a proper vacation post is coming soon!).
The last of the snow has melted from the deck!
Grilled homemade pizza and big wine: heavenly.
Fresh-squeezed tangerine mint cocktail.
(Mostly) dry trails.
Ahhh. Flip-flops and green grass.
John showed me a hike he does with Cholula behind the house.
Spring spring-ing.
The first official dog dive of the season!
Shrimp tacos with homemade pico de gallo.
View from our condo’s lanai.
Right before this photo with my brother, I fell and skinned my knee. #klutz
Fat, happy beach dog under the pier.
SO MANY CHOICES.
Yes.
I have a feeling this is the same seal I made friends with five years ago.
Poke! Scrumptious.
Hanalei Pier.
There were a lot of selfies taken on this trip.
Hiking the Na Pali coastline.
Trail selfie!
The mid-hike opah wrap and PBR was delicious.
Pile of leis.
Luau shenanigans (read: open bar).
My new favorite phrase.
After a rain shower.
These beautiful shady trees grow right over the beach.
Lunchtime selfie!
Wondering why I paid for perms for like 20 years…
These two.
One of my favorite photos from the trip.
Why my bag was heavier coming home.
Sarah sent me a photo of her new friend in Oman. HELLO.
Amanda had this 45. And I’m dating myself. Do you know what a 45 is?
We checked out a new trail in the ‘hood.
Yes, that is fresh snow behind the ranunculus.
Take-out sushi night!
One year ago, I made pork carnitas tacos!
Two years ago, Amanda and I did big hair and tried on prom dresses.
Three years ago, John had just returned from heli-skiing in Alaska.
And this was Ms. Lazybones this morning. How I missed her!
You know. Just the usual bliss.
One year ago: Strawberry Coconut Sorbet.

Looks like you had a fun and enjoyable trip! I never knew Spam came in other flavors, to be honest, lol. And I’m taking a guess, but is a 45 a record or something? I’m a 90’s baby so excuse me if I’m wrong 🙂
Yes, 45s are those smaller record albums you really don’t see much anymore…
Welcome home, Amber! With the tease of your photos, I can’t wait to hear all about your Kauai adventures. xoxo
I’ve been a tad overwhelmed with the task. Something like 600 photos… eep.
Welcome Back from PARADISE – LOVING Your Captures – thanks so much for sharing!!! Happy Bliss Day 🙂
Thanks, Renee! Happy BLISS day to you!
Great pics, can’t wait to see more vacation pics.
Woo hoo! Welcome back, Chica. Bananarama = Clubbing + Awesome VW Memories. The hibiscus flower is my fav. Can’t wait until your next post. Did you know that Hawaii is on our travel plans for 2015? SQUEE!
Glad you had a wonderful time! Welcome home.
