101 things

It was harder than I thought it would be to come up with 101 things to accomplish within 1001 days (see Day Zero Project), but I’m excited about the list. There are lots of fun things on there. Some will be pretty easy. Some, frankly, intimidate me- and plenty will challenge me to get out of my comfort zone.

April 26, 2012 will be my official ‘first’ day. That means I have until January 22, 2015 to cross everything off of this list. (Yes, I had to look that up. And yes, I discovered my math was wrong when I did.)

Items in bold italic are in progress. Items crossed out are ACCOMPLISHED!

1. Learn to make pasta from scratch

39. Write a thank you note to my therapist I figure this counts. 

40. Improve photo skills by doing the Photo-a-Day challenge from Fat Mum Slim

41. Learn to speak basic Italian

42. Relearn the piano

43. Get a full-sized keyboard or piano to practice on for the music room Yay!

44. Take at least one night off of TV per week

45. Drink 6-8 glasses of water each day for a week (and keep it up!)

46. Make a habit of waking up earlier each day

47. Walk/hike with Cholula 3 times a week (Some examples here.)


48. Volunteer at three different places

49. Plant a garden at the new house Complete!

50. Start composting and use it in the garden

  2. That is the best list ever. Everyone should just copy and paste for their own! My two cents:

    #3 – I know the secret to the BEST crust (I’ll share…)
    #28 – Ooo…my favorite. If you want to do it drug-free, let me know. I’m, ahem, an expert.
    #33 – Re-locate that BEFORE #28 or it will never happen. LOL
    #49 – LOTS of different ways. Call me.
    #54 – The BEST thing on your list! Make it an oak. One you can hang a swing from one day.
    #97 – Learn a song for him instead, using those chords and sing it to him on your paper (1st) anniversary (paper…music, get it?). You’ll make him cry.
    #102 – ??? Are you just getting started? Where’s the sky diving? Sailplane flying?

      • Holy crap! You are down to the wire now. Hats off and good luck. 😀

        #3 – Vodka. The key to the perfect crust is vodka, because using water — even super cold — creates gluten which makes a flaky crust chewy. Vodka from the freezer is better best because it doesn’t melt the coconut oil. My crusts always turn out perfect.
        #97 – Any luck yet? My son self-taught himself the ukulele over the summer and now ROCKS at playing the acoustic guitar.

  3. There are so many awesome things on this list! I love how they range from an easily attainable thing like “Learn yummy ways to cook tofu” to the more ongoing things like “Take a trip with girlfriends once each year”. I especially like #101. And I think I’m going to add that to my list. 🙂 LOVE your blog! Fun fun fun!

    • Aw, thanks! Yes, I actually had a hard time coming up with 101 things. I had to challenge myself. The hardest ones so far are the ones you’d think would be easy. Like flossing or drinking more water. Habits are not only hard to break- they can be hard to MAKE! Thanks for reading….
